Rather than being some kind of safe cracking game, like the title might imply, Money Vault is actually about a Wheel of Fortune like game show. This is clear from the background, which features a multi colored wheel.

Symbols in this 5 reel slot include a money vault, money clip, gold coins, diamonds, a Cash Spin icon, Wild symbol and money bags.

The cash vault is the highest paying regular symbol, earning you 500 coins when it appears five times in a pay line.

The Wild symbol only appears on reels 2 and 4, and it substitutes for everything except the Cash Spin and money bag bonus symbols.

You'll often get stacked wilds when playing, which result in some large payouts. For instance, we got stacked wilds in reels 2 and 4, leading to a €35 payout from a €2 total bet.

This game doesn't really feature any animations outside of the bonuses. However, you will hear little jingles every time you spin the reels.

Money Vault Bonus

As mentioned before, this doesn't appear to be a slot that would have an abundance of features. However, Money Vault actually has three different bonus rounds:

Beginning with the Money Bag Bonus, this is triggered when you get 3 money bag symbols anywhere on reels 2, 3, and 4.

This brings the three money bags to the foreground and you select one of them to reveal its value. You'll also be shown the values of the two bags that you didn't select.

Prizes range from 3x to 50x your triggering bet, and we picked up €40 once, compared to the €6 and €8 bags that we could've ended up with.

The Cash Spin Wheel is the primary bonus in this game, and you trigger it by getting Cash Spin symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. It took quite a while for us to accomplish this feat, with lots of near misses after Cash Spin symbols landed on reels 1 and 3.

Once you trigger this round, you're taken to a second screen where the announcer says that it's time to spin the wheel. You're then shown a Wheel of Fortune type wheel with lots of spaces for credit prizes and a few spaces for free spins.

You spin the wheel once and if it stops on a credit amount, you earn that prize and the wheel game ends. If the wheel stops on free spins, which can only be triggered through the wheel, you receive a 1x payout on your triggering stake and move on to the free games bonus.

This gives you 12 free spins with a 2x multiplier on all wins. The Money Bag and Cash Spin features are still available during these free spins, which is a good thing for us because we triggered the Cash Spin wheel a second time.

You can also keep retriggering the 12 free games until you've performed 60 free spins in a row or you run out.

Money Vault Slot Machine

The online version that we discussed above is based on this land based slot, which is largely the same concept. In fact, the symbols are almost the same, except for casino chips being added and slightly different designs on the money vault, diamond ring and gold coins.

You'll see some bigger differences, though, such as the Cash Spin Wheel utilizing Bally's U Spin technology. This allows you to use the touchscreen to spin the wheel and reveal your bonus prize.

Comparison to Cash Spin

If you look just below the main title when playing this game online, you'll notice that it reads Featuring Cash Spin. This is interesting because Bally's also made another slot called Cash Spin that follows the same model as Money Vault.

Cash Spin was actually Bally's first slot to feature U Spin technology, helping it win honors for "Best Slot Product" at the 2010 Gaming & Technology Awards.

With its interactive wheel bonus game, Cash Spin was pretty revolutionary when it first came out. In fact, you can still find plenty of people playing it in casinos today.
