Las Vegas USA Casino is a long-standing USA-friendly casino gambling website. Las Vegas USA depends on RTG and RTG only for its gaming software. This online casino is owned and operated by the Main Street group, and it holds its gaming license from the jurisdiction of Panama. The site launched in 1999, though at the time it was independently owned and operated, and did not run Realtime Gaming titles.
Join NowInitial Impressions of Las Vegas USA
In the years since, the site has been bought, altered heavily to resemble most other RTG-powered casino websites, and even weathered the 2006 UIGEA law and the collapse of the US betting market. Based on the fact that their bonuses are offered exclusively to North American customers (the only currency they use being the US dollar), it's clear that Las Vegas USA is more than just a US-facing site; it's a US-targeted site.
How do I feel about the casino gambling services offered by Las Vegas USA? Let's start with a list of positive features of the site – these are reasons you may consider opening an account at the site.
US Customers are Welcome
It's no secret that Americans have restricted access to online gambling. Most of the industry's biggest names restrict all access to Americans, or (at best) allow residents of New Jersey (where online betting is explicitly legal) to have access to games of chance and skill. That's not the case at Las Vegas USA – Americans and Canadians have full and unrestricted access to all categories of casino titles. This is a big deal if, like me, you live in the United States. If you don't, it's probably less impressive.
Free Deposits & Withdrawals
The site advertises all of its payment methods, both pay-ins and payouts, as "free." This is almost true – though not all of their deposit and withdrawal methods are totally without cost. For instance, if you deposit less than $100 via money order, you'll have to pay an unspecified fee after contacting customer service to make them aware of the deposit. But even that method gives bettors an "out" – if you don't want to pay the fee, deposit $101. It's nice to see that all withdrawal methods are available without fees, though if you dig around long enough in the site's terms and conditions pages, you'll see that only one check withdrawal per month is free. After that, checks cost $40 apiece. Just make sure to read all the fine print before you get suckered in with promises of free funds transfers.
Huge Variety of Bonuses & Other Promotions
I've covered most of the site's important bonus offers in detail below – but the site actually offers a lot more bonuses than what I described. Some of them are one-time-only offers that vary from day to day, others are niche game offers, like loss rebates on specialty games. Check out the full list of promotions available at Las Vegas USA Casino. Read the terms and conditions carefully, as always. Las Vegas USA is a stickler for the rules when it comes to their bonus offers.
Now for some negative features – some reasons you may reconsider opening an account at Las Vegas USA.
Panama Licensure
Panama is one of the least well respected licensing bodies in the Internet gambling industry. The Panamanian government offers little or no oversight of the companies licensed by them. This is more of a complaint about the licensing body than it is a drawback for this particular casino, which I believe is reputable and worth trying. I'd prefer that they have a license from someplace strict, but honestly, in the Internet gambling industry, reputation is far more important than licensure anyway.
Customer Service Options
The first time I visited the site, I got a 404 error when I visited the Support page. That was disappointing, so I tried contacting support via Live Chat, and I had to wait for a little while to get in touch with a representative. This didn't make a great first impression.
I've since contacted the casino to talk about this experience, and they've since updated the page and worked on improving their customer service experience. I'm confident that this problem has been solved.
Exclusive Use of RTG Software I like RTG software. The games are sleek and fun, if a little old-fashioned. They offer plenty of variety, and I don't know of any casino games I'd want to play that they lack.
But I would have preferred to see a few more choices, software-wise. It's become common for online casinos to use multiple software packages to power their games, and a lot of Internet casinos even offer proprietary games.
This isn't much of a drawback, but it IS an opportunity for Las Vegas USA to improve further.
Bonus Details
The bonus offers at Las Vegas USA are aimed at North American clients. This is great news if you live in the United States or Canada, but if you're from Europe, you probably have a lot more options to choose from anyway. The bonus offers from Las Vegas USA are exceptional, though. It's just important to understand who they're for from the beginning.
- 400% Welcome Bonus
First-time depositors are eligible for a 400% deposit match up to a maximum of $10,000. This is a huge bonus offer for today's market, more reminiscent of the kinds of promos running at casinos a decade ago, before the US collapse. The minimum deposit required to trigger this offer is $20, and the bonus has a 40x wagering requirement. Certain games don't count toward clearing this offer - Craps, Caribbean Hold'em, Baccarat, Tri Card Poker, Roulette, Three Card Rummy and Sic Bo.
- 200% Double Match
This bonus is good on all account reloads, and offers a 200% deposit match worth up to $7,000. The rollover requirement is 40x, and restricts the same list of games as the Welcome Bonus.
- Weekly Bonus
Varies from week to week, but usually takes the form of a deposit method-specific match offer. Example – this week, the site is offering a 40% deposit match on all gift card deposits.
- Daily Bonus
Varies depending on the day of the week, according to a set schedule: Cashback Monday, Wild Wednesday, etc. Requires that you follow the same rollover requirements as with the Welcome and reload bonuses described above.
- Birthday Bonus
Every year on your birthday, Las Vegas USA offers a special free bet, depending mainly on your player status. Low-level members can earn up to $10 in free wagers, depending on loyalty.
Banking Options
It's not unusual for a US-focused casino site to offer just one or two deposit and withdrawal options. After all, the US payment method market is a smoking hulk of what it once was. I was pleasantly surprised to see a few more deposit and withdrawal methods than usual.
Here's a table showing the details of the various deposit options available at Las Vegas USA Casino:
Method |
Minimum |
Maximum |
Notes |
VISA/MasterCard | $25 | $500 | Documents required |
Gift Cards | $20 | $500 | Available worldwide |
Neteller | $10 | $2,500 | Not available to US players |
Money Order | $50 | $1,000 | No fee for deposits of $100 |
Here's a few details on the withdrawal options available to customers at Las Vegas USA Casino:
Method |
Minimum |
Maximum |
Notes |
Check by Mail | $100 | $399.99 | May take a month or more |
Check by Courier | $400 | $2,500 | FedEx and DHL |
Direct Deposit | $100 | $1,250 | American banks only |
Money Order | $100 | $2,500 | Not available to US players |
Neteller | $10 | $5,000 | Not available to US players |
All transactions are in US dollars only.
Now let's take a look at each of the site's four categories of casino games.
Table Games
RTG's table games selection is not known for variety. The best that a site that runs on Realtime software can do to enhance variety is host every single table game title the company offers. That appears to be what Las Vegas USA is all about – because I've rarely seen an RTG site with so many table games available:
|
|
Sure, the emphasis here is pretty clearly on the game of blackjack – but that's not unusual in table games categories at online casinos. Blackjack lends itself to revision in a way that a game like craps just doesn't. Besides, it's nice to see a casino game lineup that isn't stuffed with useless VIP versions of games that do little besides offer alternative graphics. I also like how this list closely mirrors the games you'd find in, say, an Atlantic City or other American casinos. For an American gambler like me, this is a familiar and cozy collection of casino classics.
Specialty Games
The site lists just two titles in its Specialty Games section:
- Treasure Tree
This is a scratch card game, but an online version. Web-based scratch cards are growing in popularity as an alternative to the classic penny slot, since they require a small investment and promise big payouts. Be careful, though, as the odds of winning on this game are at least as bad as the odds of winning any typical US scratch card game.
- Classic Keno
This is a trimmed-down version of the classic lottery-style casino game called Keno. It doesn't offer much in the way of features, though it does include a Quick Pick option for accelerated betting.
Video Poker
Las Vegas USA hosts fourteen variations of video poker:
|
|
The trouble with online video poker is that you'll rarely if ever find a game that's set up to offer a decent payout percentage. It's possible, in brick and mortar casinos, to find games that offer a very thin edge to the casino, or in some cases a slight edge to the player. I like video poker for this very reason – with a little research and the application of strategy, anyone can beat the house. That's not the case with most online video poker games, including the ones listed above.
That being said, video poker, even the ones with lower paying payout tables, offer better payouts than slots almost every time.
Slots
I was surprised to find just five-dozen slot titles available. If RTG is good at anything, it's designing slots, as evidenced by the dozens of other Realtime-designed sites that host hundreds of slots. It looks to me like Las Vegas USA chose only those RTG titles that have some kind of following or involve cool features. In other words, their list of slot games is "all thriller, no filler."
I'm reminded of a beer store in my home town. Their sign outside says they carry 2000 varieties of GOOD beer and wine, not 8000 varieties of any kind. Then it says, "Don't be fooled."
Las Vegas USA seems to have the same philosophy with their slots games, and I like it.
Here's a list of the most popular RTG titles that are available for play at this casino:
- Texan Tycoon
- T-Rex
- Cleopatra's Gold
- Naughty or Nice
- The Three Stooges
- Ninja Star
- Vulcan
- Orc vs. Elf
Customer Support
I wrote about my first impression of the customer service available at Las Vegas USA earlier in this review. I'm confident they've addressed my concerns. You're able to contact their customer service team via live chat and/or email 24/7.
I'd prefer that they offer 24/7 customer service over the phone, but in the 21st century, live chat is the next best thing. And I communicate with lots of companies exclusively via email, so that's no big deal, either.
Here are the two available contact methods:
- Live Chat
- Email: [email protected]
Remember that English is the only language used by Las Vegas USA for customer support.
Summary
Some reviewers are immediately suspicious of any site that hosts Realtime Gaming-designed titles. I'm not in that camp. I'm a fan of RTG games, but they're not my favorite game designer. But I'm sure they're not scam artists.
Las Vegas USA is not on any major casino blacklists, but it's also not a site you hear about much. I'm comfortable recommending the site, although I think other options are also attractive.
If you're a gambler from the United States or Canada, this is a fine property to deal with. On the other hand, if you're from Europe, you have lots more options which offer more variety and which are friendlier to your needs bonus-wise.
Las Vegas USA is recommended for North American customers only, especially fans of interesting slot machine games and blackjack variations. If you're looking for a site which also offers sports betting and poker, you might want to look at other options.
But I'm confident that if you're looking for a site that specializes in real money casino games for United States player, you'll be happy with Las Vegas USA Casino.
