How do I feel about the site? Let's start with some positive aspects that may have you considering opening an account:

GTBets accepts wagers from customers in North America. If you're a sports bettor looking for an online book, and you happen to live in Canada or the US, you're short on options. Finding a site with casino games, a racebook, and a sportsbook that will do business with (most) US and Canadian customers is a big deal.

GTBets use of Betsoft software for its gaming library is an excellent choice. Betsoft is one of my favorite casino game designers. Their games look modern. They're slick, like video games, and they tend to have high replay value, either because they're darn good looking (in the case of table and casino games) or because they have interesting plots and high-quality effects (in the case of slots). But the quality isn't the only reason I endorse the casino at GTBets – the site also has quantity to boast of, with hundreds of different casino games under one roof.

The site's promotions are easy to earn and potentially lucrative. I may complain about the hefty fees for deposits and withdrawals, but it's worth pointing out that GTBets has some of the kindest bonus terms I've seen in years. It's hard to quantify, since they use a points system instead of a traditional wagering requirement, but it takes less time and less "loyalty"' to earn them. It's not much of an improvement over standard online gambling promotions, but any amount of improvement is worth celebrating.

Sports betting limits are realistic. Most sides are limited to $1,000 or $2,000, an indication that GTBets isn't for professional bettors, but recreational guys like me. For some bettors, this may be a negative thing – then again, GTBets isn't set up for professional guys with big money. Go somewhere else with your fat bankroll.

Now for some negative aspects of the site that may have you thinking twice about joining:

GTBets is licensed by the Curacao Gaming Commission. I don't put a lot of faith in gaming licenses secured from Curacao. They've been in the business since the mid-90s, but that's not necessarily a good thing. What you're looking for in a licensing jurisdiction are rigorous standards and a tough application process, neither of which are part of the services of the Curacao Gaming Commission.

My main concern here is that if you had an issue with GTBets, you'd have almost no recourse, since Curacao has no treaty with the US government that requires the sharing of information.

GTBets has a limited selection of available deposit and withdrawal methods. GTBets is open to wagers from all over the world, including the difficult markets in North America, but if customers don't have access to a legitimate way to send and receive money, your services may as well be limited to gamblers living on Mars. Almost none of those withdrawal methods are available outside of Europe, and the same goes for the deposit methods, save for the addition of branded credit, debit, and gift cards. I'm also astounded at the fee structure in place for most deposit and withdrawal methods – I'm used to seeing low or non-existent fees at online sportsbooks and casinos. That's not the case at GTBets.

Horse Rebate - Racebook bettors can earn a rebate of up to 15% of their net monthly losses. Mobile wagers and wagers outside of the racebook don't count towards the rebate or the rollover.

The US dollar is the only currency accepted at GTBets.

GTBets is all about "sports, casino, and horses." At other combo sites, the sportsbook is the main attraction. That's really not the case at GTBets – here, the casino has better features and (likely) more traffic. The sportsbook is almost an after-thought in a lot of ways. The word on GTBets, in reviews by guys whose opinions I trust, is that the site's sportsbook really focuses on NFL football, to the detriment of other markets.

It's nice that the site advertises a long list of available betting styles, but if it lacks markets that appeal to people outside of the lower 48 states, it's always going to have limited appeal, "1st 5 innings" bets or not.

GTBets breaks the "football site" mold a little when it comes to international soccer – most of the major leagues are represented, as well as some minor ones as far away as Oceania. But where football is clearly king is in the world of promotions – the site's "half-juice game of the week" runs only during NFL season and is exactly what the name implies. This promotion even works on the heavier-juiced live bets, making it an even better deal for those customers.

At some combo sites, the casino is an afterthought, with the sportsbook being the main focus. You could say that the situation is reversed at GTBets. I think the Betsoft-designed casino is a much better feature than the site's sportsbook, especially if you're not all that interested in professional US and Canadian football.

Slots

GTBets is home to 178 total Betsoft-design slot games, every one of which is compatible with the site's mobile casino platform. The majority of these slots are classified as "5-reel 3D" slots – these are the best known games in Betsoft's arsenal – titles like 2 Million BC and Good Girl, Bad Girl. GTBets and Betsoft also partnered to provide a ton of simplified "classic" slots with a single payline and easier rules. A variety of jackpot progressive slots are also available. The slot category is by far the largest category of games at the site.

One feature of GTBets game library that I appreciate is the lack of "VIP" or "Premium" versions of their table games clogging up the library. All these titles are either straightforward casino games or variants of the same. It's nice to see so many casino-style poker variants available alongside multiple Betsoft-designed mobile-compatible table game variants.

Five versions of keno, a traditionally long-odds game, alongside a virtual lotto scratch ticket and a virtual horse racing game is a really weird collection of titles. It's also a group of games best left to true fans, as almost all of these games involve wagers that give the house an obscene advantage.

If GTBets added a poker room, a virtual bingo hall, and a more robust mobile service, they could really compete on the world stage. For now, the site isn't accurately described as "all-in-one," since it's really a glorified sportsbook and casino combo site. The bonuses are tempting, but a few other details (such as licensure from Curacao) make me not so sure about this service.
