Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Picks For Wednesday, 11/2

Daily fantasy basketball sees its biggest slate on Wednesday night, with a fully loaded 10-game schedule coming our way.

Last night was crazy, but Wednesday night promises to be even crazier with three massive studs in James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis all hitting the hardwood.

Obviously we’ll all want a hand in one or more of those elite options, and the best way to do that is to stack some value plays together and hope they hit. Looking at the salaries at DraftKings tonight, there are a few really solid value plays that could work out swimmingly in daily fantasy basketball leagues.

Let’s take a look at a few of our favorites at each position that are priced under $5k:

Point Guard

• Sergio Rodriguez – 76ers ($4.9k)
• J.J. Barea – Mavs ($4.8k)

The point guard value is barren beyond $5k tonight, so it’s looking like Sergio or Barea. Barea has been killing it as a scorer lately, firing in over 16 points per game through the first three contests of the year.

Of the two, though, Sergio is the one to trust. The Spaniard has been slaying as Philly’s starting point guard, piling up 12.7 points and 8.3 dimes per contest. That’s led to 26+ fantasy points in all three games he’s played.

Tonight Rodriguez gets the Hornets, and while Philly will probably lose, he should have little trouble meeting value at such a nice price.

Shooting Guard

• Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – Pistons ($4.6k)
• J.J. Redick – Clippers ($4.3k)
• Kyle Korver – Hawks ($3.9k)
• Sean Kilpatrick – Nets ($3.8k)

It feels like its James Harden or bust at shooting guard, but you can still slide three other guards into your DraftKings daily fantasy basketball lineup and these sharpshooters need to be considered.

KCP probably has the best floor of this group, as he can get his hands on a lot of stats and finally got going in his most recent contests (30 and 36 fantasy points).

KCP is fairly volatile, though, so it may make good sense to drop down to guys like Redick or Korver – both of which can get hot from outside rather quickly.

The play of the night at SG may very well end up being Kilpatrick, however, as he’s carved out a nice 20-25 minute role with Brooklyn and has been remarkably consistent (13+ actual points scored in all four games this year). Kilaptrick is already connecting, but tonight could be the night where he finally catches true fire from deep.

Small Forward

• Bojan Bogdanovic – Nets ($4.8k)
• DeMarre Carroll – Raptors ($4.6k)
• Andre Roberson – Thunder ($4.1k)

Small forward doesn’t have a ton of elite options like we’re used to tonight, as the likes of Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are all off.

If you don’t want to spend at SF, consider dropping down to these three guys, who all offer something different.

Bojan is very hit or miss due to doing nothing but scoring, but he’s been hot twice this year (29 and 37 fantasy points). You’ll just have to hope the Nets can hang around in a date with the Pistons.

Carroll isn’t quite as reliable offensively, but he racks up defensive stats with the best of them. Despite not topping 10 actual points in any game this year, he’s still averaging a decent 21 fantasy points per game.

Of this lot, I prefer Roberson. Roberson isn’t a good offensive player, but he’s shown the ability to hit open three’s and really has his hands all over the place. The key for him is run, as we’ve seen him log 30+ minutes each game this year and that’s helped lead to 25.9 fantasy points per contest.

Power Forward

• Marvin Williams – Hornets ($5k)
• Dario Saric – 76ers ($4.5k)
• Al-Farouq Aminu – Blazers ($4.4k)
• Amir Johnson – Celtics ($3.4k)

Power forward is a great spot to spend big tonight, but it also boasts some appealing value. Williams can shoot three’s, rebound and rack up defensive stats and there aren’t many better spots to use him and his 26.5 fantasy points per game average than a home date with the 76ers.

In that same game, we need to consider the sharpshooting Dario Saric, who finally got hot last night (21 actual points) and can also hit the boards a bit. He may be tough to trust on the road in the second game of a back to back set, but he offers upside at a cheap price.

AFA is another guy to look at, seeing as he’s also very involved on the defensive end and can also hit open three’s. He really hasn’t blown up yet this year, but he’s chipped in two straight 29+ fantasy point efforts. Tonight in a fast-paced battle with the Suns we could see his biggest DFS outing yet.

Amir Johnson’s run and production are not reliable at all, but news of big man Al Horford (concussion) sitting out tonight puts him in the driver’s seat for a good night. Johnson is only averaging 13.6 fantasy points per game tonight, but if he gets extra minutes (and he should), he could carry double-double potential at home against the Bulls.

Center

• Mason Plumlee – Blazers ($4.6k)
• Joakim Noah – Knicks ($4.2k)
• Tyler Zeller – Celtics ($3k)
• Tarik Black – Lakers ($3k)

Center could be another good place to save up, especially since there aren’t many elite options there to spend on.

Plumdog is one good option, as he’s been fairly reliable (24+ fantasy points in three straight games) and could be needed against Phoenix’s bigs. He offers double-double upside and as a very strong passer, is also a surprising source of assists.

The same goes for Noah, who offers very little as a scorer but passes well, rebounds and can get blocks. His price is absurdly low for a guy who has seen his minutes rise in every game. Just be weary of him being rested, as the Knicks did just play last night.

Zeller and Black are extreme deep fliers tonight, but both could end up drawing the start due to player injuries. Of the two, Zeller has a more well-rounded offensive game and is probably the safer play. That being said, Black did put up 19 fantasy points in 19 minutes last night, so if the run is there, he could be a fine GPP try.
